Krickeberg is retired professor of exceptional class of the U. of Paris V (since 1998). After having earned his Dr.rer.nat. from the Humboldt-U. of Berlin and his Habilitation from the U. of Würzburg, he held full professorships at the U. of Heidelberg and Bielefeld and visiting full professorships at the U. of Aarhus and Columbia U., New York. He was Pres. of the Bernoulli Society for Probability and Mathematical Statistics. He has worked extensively in Latin America and South East Asia, both in mathematical statistics and in public health. His honours include: Fellow, Institute of Mathematical Statistics, USA; Dr. (h.c.), U. of Vienna and Natl. U. of Ho Chi Minh City; member, Germany Acad. of Sciences (Leopoldina); Medal of Merit, Vietnamese Ministry of Health; Hon. Professor, Thai Binh U. of Medicine and Pharmacy. Current work: Public Health in Vietnam (teaching, counseling, research).
