Can Li has been working on both fundamental and applied research in catalysis and making efforts to reveal the essential relationship between catalytic performance and catalyst structure, and to understand catalysis at various levels including atomic, molecular as well as nanometer scales and to apply these understandings to the designs and the development of practical applications in energy, fine chemicals and environmental sciences. In particular to understand the fundamental of catalysis by developing in situ spectroscopy (e.g., UV Raman, Time resolved vibrational and electronic spectroscopy) to characterize the catalyst structure, and catalytic reactions. Can Li is the Director of Dalian National Laboratory for Clean Energy. He was elected a Member of the Chinese Academy of Science (2003), a Member of The Academy of Science for Developing Countries (2005), a Foreign Member of Academia Europea (2008), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (2008).

Lin is research professor in mathematics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and dean of the Science Faculty at Beijing University of Aero/Astronautics. He was previously assistant professor from 1956-59, lecturer from 1960-78 and associate professor from 1979-82 at CAS. He is a prominent figure in numerical analysis in China. He is well-known for his theory of extrapolation of finite and boundary element solutions of partial differential equations. His awards include: First Place Award of Natural Science Prize, CAS; expert at national level with Outstanding Contributions; the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation; and the B. Bolzano Gold Medal for Merits in the field of mathematical sciences. His membership includes: CAS; standing committee, CAS, the Chinese Mathematical Society and the SIAM Fellow.

Liu is prof. and head of the Cancer Therapy Lab. at the Shanghai Inst. of Bioch. and Cell Biology (SIBCB), Chinese Acad. of Sciences (CAS). He graduated from Nankai University, China, 1952 and work in USA 1983-4. He has worked in many fields of mol. biol., incl. interferon, total synthesis of yeast Ala-tRNA, genetic engineering and is now focused on cancer biotherapy and innovated the “Cancer Targeting Gene-Viro-Therapy (CTGVT)”. By the use of two genes, the CTGVT-DG, all the Xenograft tumors in nude mice can be completely eliminated; He co-discovered a “Super Interferon-I (sIFN-I)”, with excellent cancer therapeutic effects. He has published over 400 papers, compiled 15 volume collected papers of Xin-Yuan Liu and received over 40 awards. He is an academician of CAS and foreign academician of the Natl. Acad. of Sciences of Ukraine.

Yansui Liu is the TWAS Fellow, GSC Fellow, Top 1% Scientist, TWAS Prize award(2018), IGU Distinguished Practice Award（2022）, the Global Highly Cited Researchers since 2018, Associate Editor of Land Use Policy; Professor of Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and the University of CAS; Chair, International Geographical Union’s Commission on Agricultural Geography and Land Engineering(IGU-AGLE); Chair, ANSO-Alliance of Poverty Reduction and Development (ANSO-APRD); Director, Center for Assessment and Research on Targeted Poverty Alleviation, CAS, and China Urban-Rural Development Think Tank Alliance; the Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor. Honorary advisory board member of the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network. Long is a professor at Chern Institute of Mathematics, Nankai University, China, where he was previously assistant lecturer, lecturer, and associate professor (1981-83, 1988-90). He has made fundamental contributions to Hamiltonian dynamics. In particular, he is acknowledged for his index iteration theory for symplectic paths and for his deep studies on periodic solution orbits of Hamiltonian systems including closed characteristics and geodesics. His awards include: Prize in Math., TWAS (2004); National Natural Scientific Awards (second class), State Council of China (2004); Yangzi River Prof., Education Ministry of China (2003); S. S. Chern Prize and L. G. Hua Prize, Chinese Math. Soc. (1998, 2017), Excellent Young Researcher Awards, Hong Kong Qiushi Foundation (1997), Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress, Ho Leung Ho Lee foundation (2012). He was an invited speaker of Inter. Congress of Math.-2002. He is a member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Math. Society, and a fellow of American Math. Society.

Lu is a Chair Professor of Xiamen Uni., former Co-Director, Res. Center for Eco-Environmental Scs., Chinese Acad. of Scs.. He is a foreign member of Academia Europaea, and Russian Academy of Sciences; Fellow of Int. Sci Coucil; 10-Member Group of UN Technology Facilitation Mechanism for SDGs; Pres., Pacific Science Association; Past Pres., Scientific Committee on Problems of the Env. (SCOPE); Sc. Advisor, IUCN; UNEP Intl. Resource Panel member; and was a member of ICSU Committee on Scientific Planning and Review. He is a highly cited international scientist. He is founding Editor-in-Chief of Ecosystem Health and Sustainability, Assoc. Ed. of Sc. Advances, founder and Assoc. Ed. of Envl. Dev., and an editorial board member of several peer-reviewed journals. He has served on several expert consultation groups on Sc. and Tech., and envl. decision-making at various levels. Lu has obtained numerous awards and honours including the 2nd Natl. Prize for Advancement of Sc. and Tech., and SCOPE Dist. Achievement Award.

Meng is a professor of Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He obtained his bachelor degree in 1983 at Southwestern Agricultural University, China, and PhD in 1991 at Nottingham University, UK. He was director of the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) (2008-2012). He is an elected fellow of CAS. He has been working mainly on maternal factors related to regulation of cell lineage, body axis determination, and germ layer formation and patterning using zebrafish and mouse models. His representative work include: 1) revealing the role of Dpr2/Dact2 in mesoderm induction by antagonizing Nodal signaling (Science, 2004); 2) discovery of the maternal factor Huluwa as the key organizer determinant in the zebrafish embryo (Science, 2018); 3) Discovery of the second polar body's role in preimplantation cell fate determination and postimplantation development of the mouse embryo (National Science Reviews, 2022); 4) demonstration of regulation of zygotic genome activation by maturity of nuclear pole complexes in the zebrafish (Cell, 2022).

Mu (Phd 1985, Fudan U.) is an academician and researcher, working in the Key Laboratory of Ocean Circulation and Waves (KLOCW) – Inst. of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOCAS). He worked as a postdoctorate researcher at Inst. of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). His main contributions are on predictability of weather and climate and stability of geophysical fluid motions. He proposed and applied a new method called CNOP to study predictability, ensemble forecast and adaptive observations of ENSO, thermolhaline circulation of oceans, tropical cyclone, blockings, Kuroshio etc. He established a series of nonlinear stability criteria of atmospheric and oceanic motions. He is a member of CAS (2007); First Class Prize of Nature Scientific Award, CAS (2001); Natl.-wide Excellent Post Doc, Ministry of Personnel (2005); and Ho Leung Ho Lee Sc. and Tech. Prize (2010).

Ou-Yang has worked at the Institute of Theoretical Physics (ITP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Beijing since 1989 and has served as director from 1998-2007. He is also adjunct professor at the Center for Advanced Study at Tsinghua University, Beijing. He made distinguished contributions to soft matter physics and biophysics., e.g. the Ouyang-Helfrich shape equation for vesicles of spontaneous curvature, the theory of vesicle-to-tube shape transition of bipeptide aggregates, and the new theory of icosahedron shape of virus capsid and nano-aggregates, the elastic model of double-strand DNA which has been acknowledged as one of the most important early theoretical works on DNA. His honours include: Asia Achievement Prize(1993), Overseas Chinese Physical Society; First Award in Natural Science(1995), CAS, Beijing; Second Award, Chinese National Prize for Natural Sciences(1999); Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation (HLHL) Prize for Progress in Science and Technology (2004); The National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers, by China Association for Science and Technology (2010). He has became an academician of CAS since1997.

Piao (PhD, 2004, Peking University, China) is Boya Distinguished Professor, director of Institute of Carbon Neutrality, deputy director of Department of Science, Peking University. He is a Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a Member of Standing Committee for the fourteenth Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He served on the Scientific Steering Committee for Global Carbon Project and acted as lead author for the fifth and sixth assessment reports of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. His researches have focused on the relationships between terrestrial ecosystems and climate change, and he has made systematic scientific achievements in assessing the carbon sink of China's terrestrial ecosystems, and the response and feedback of terrestrial ecosystems to climate change. He has published over 100 papers as first or corresponding author in peer-reviewed international journals, including four articles in Nature, many in Nature-branded journals and PNAS. His researches were elected as one of the Top 10 News of Chinese Fundamental Research in 2009 and Top 10 Scientific and Technological Advances in Chinese Higher Education Institutions in 2013.

Qiao is academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, vice-president of the China Association for Science and Technology, executive vice-president of Peking University, director of Peking University Health Science Center, academician of American Academy of Arts and Sciences (International Honorary Member), and Honorary Fellow of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She has a high reputation in the field of reproductive medicine in China and worldwide. For more than 30 years, she has endeavored to unravel the profound mystery of human reproduction and achieved a number of theoretical and technical breakthroughs in the systematic study of gametogenesis and embryo development, infertility causes and clinical treatments, the protection and preservation of female fertility as well as developing a series of new pre-implantation diagnosis (PGT) methods, which greatly reduces the cost and improves the efficiency in identifying inherited diseases. She also continuously pays attention to the construction of the maternal and child public health system, and the health of women and children throughout their entire life cycle.
