TWAS Marks 25th Anniversary with Election of 41 New Members.
TWAS announces winners of the 2008 TWAS Prizes.
TWAS Awards First Regional Prizes for Science Education.
TWAS Medal Lectures 2009 Awarded. TWAS members Wieland Gevers from South Africa, Li Zhensheng from China and Sergio Rezende from Brazil have been awarded the 2009 'TWAS Medal Lectures'. The announcement took place at the TWAS 25th anniversary conference held in Mexico City 10-13 November 2008. The Medal Lectures will be given at the next TWAS General Meeting scheduled to take place in South Africa in October 2009. TWAS has been awarding Medal Lectures since 1996. Rao honoured with Abdus Salam Medal for Science and Technology. C.N.R. Rao, former president of TWAS, has been named the 2009 recipient of the 'Abdus Salam Medal for Science and Technology'. He is being recognized for his unwavering devotion to the promotion of excellence in science in the developing world. The announcement was made at the TWAS 25th anniversary conference held from 10 to 13 November in Mexico City. Rao will receive the Salam Medal on the occasion of the 20th General Meeting of TWAS to be held in South Africa in October 2009.
