The National Centre for Physics (NCP) in Islamabad was established in 1999 to promote research in physics and allied disciplines in Pakistan and the region. Its main objective is to raise the standard of physics at par with international norms of productivity and originality, and to generate and disseminate knowledge in the major areas of physics. Together with TWAS, NCP offers postdoctoral fellowships and fellowships for visiting scholars in Pakistan.
