Seeking comment: sustainable development goals
The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), launched by the United Nations last year, is seeking comment on a draft report that explores new sustainable development goals to replace the Millennium Development Goals that expire in 2015. The deadline for comment is Wednesday, 22 May 2013.
The report, "An Action Agenda for Sustainable Development", will be submitted to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Before the final draft is complete, however, the SDSN Leadership Council is seeking input from the public.
SDSN was launched in 2012 to mobilize global scientific and technological knowledge to evaluate and address the challenges of sustainable development. The network has had extensive worldwide consultations through thematic groups focused on a dozen key issues of sustainable development, including reducing poverty and building peace; sustainable farming and cities; low-carbon energy; and good governance.
