Biodata:
Dr. Basanta Raj Adhikari has completed my PhD in Geoscience from the University of Vienna, Austria. He has developed his research career in climate change, hill-slope movement and human interaction, Himalayan sediment flux generation, community-based disaster risk reduction for different kinds of natural disaster e.g. landslide, flood, earthquake in the Nepal Himalaya. His research on high-tech hill-slope monitoring systems in the mountains has been widely recognized by scientific communities. He is transferring this scientific knowledge for disaster reduction in community level to develop community-based low-tech and low-cost landslide monitoring and early warning systems. He has published more than 20 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and received various recognitions in the field of earth science including “IRDR Young Scientist”. He has been involved in different scientific workshops and expedition in the Nepal Himalaya and adjacent regions.
