Biodata: 
AlMomin is research scientist, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). Through much of her collaborative efforts, a national biotechnology programme was established and KISR became an affiliated ICGEB centre; she is Kuwait's liaison officer at ICGEB and a certified risk management professional from the International Federation of Biosafety Association (IFBA). AlMomin is a member of several committees including the Commission of Science and Technology for Sustainable Development (COMSATS) Advisory committee, the Steering Committee, Biosafety and Biosecurity International Consortium (BBIC), International Council of Life Sciences (ICLS). She is a member of Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) and Gender Advisory Panel. Her research interests are genetic engineering, molecular diagnostics and population genetcs of marine species, . She lead and introduced several scientific avenues at the national and regional levels, this include animal embryo transfer and manipulation, marine population assessment. Currently AlMomin is leading a government initiative for the establishment of a National Centre of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
