Chakrabarti Subhabrata

Dr. Subhabrata Chakrabarti, Associate Director of Research at LVPEI, is a genome biologist whose research on the functional genomics of glaucoma and AMD are pioneering in the field and have provided some molecular insights into the disease pathogenesis. These works have been widely recognized through several honors and awards; notable among them being the 'Research Recognition Award' of the World Glaucoma Association (WGA), Affiliateship of all the 3 Science Academies of India (INSA, IASc and NASI) and also The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and membership to the prestigious GRC (Guha Research Conference). Professionally, he serves on the Strategic Planning, Professional Development and Education and Publication Committees of ARVO (The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology), WGA, and other international organizations. He has published widely in high impact journals, secured extramural research grants from India and abroad, serves on the Editorial Boards of Translational Vision Science & Technology, Molecular Vision and Journal of Glaucoma and is a reviewer for several funding agencies.
