Biodata: 
Chela-Flores was educated in Caracas and London. In 1969 he obtained a PhD in physics at the University of London. He is Visiting Scientist at the Abdus Salam ICTP in Trieste since 2014; he was staff associate (1996-2014), scientific consultant (1990-96), Visiting Scientist (1982-1989), Associate (1972-1976). He is Professor Titular a.h., Founding Member of Institute of Advanced Studies, Caracas, and research associate at the School of Theoretical Physics, DIAS, Dublin. He was Asssociate Researcher at IVIC (1971-78), and both Dean for Research (1979-85) at University Simon Bolivar, Caracas and Professor from (1978-1990, pension status). He was awarded Order Andres Bello, Venezuelan Government. He is member of the Latin American Academy of Sciences; Academy of Creative Endeavours, Moscow; and Foreign Corresponding Member, Venezuelan Academia de Ciencias Fisicas, Matematicas y Naturales.
