Biodata
Uchechukwu M. Chukwuocha is research scientist and senior lecturer in the Department of Public Health Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria. He obtained his PhD in medical and public health parasitology at the Imo State University Owerri,Nigeria(2010). He was awarded the TWAS-DFG visiting scientist at the Institute of Tropical Medicine and International Health Berlin, Germany (2011-2012) where he studied the antimalarial resistance polymorhisms in South Eastern Nigeria. He was also awarded the TWAS-CONACyT post doctoral fellowship to explore the potentials of whole plant therapies as alternative antimalarials at the Laboratory of Molecular Immunology, National Autonomous University of Mexico (2015-2016). His research interest is in the epidemiology, sociocultural aspects and control of malaria and other endemic tropical diseases. Particularly in deriving innovative home grown solutions in controlling these diseases. He has several papers published in peer reviewed journals and presented papers in conferences globally. He is a member of the Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria and the International Society for Infectious Diseases(ISID).
