Hamdan Mohammad Ahmad

Hamdan obtained his B.Sc. in Mathematics (Cairo University, First Class Honors, 1957), his PhD in mathematical statistics (Sydney University, 1963), and Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration (Hashemite University, 2015). He is currently Senior Advisor, Arab Open University, Kuwait; President, Union of Arab Statisticians; Senator at the Upper House of Parliament in Jordan; Vice President of Jordan Academy of Arabic Language; Vice President of TWAS/ Arab Region. His previous positions include: Minister of Education and Higher Education, Jordan; Minister of Education, Jordan; President of Yarmouk U and President of Hashemite U, Jordan; President of Arab Open University, Kuwait; Prof. of math, AUB, Lebanon; Prof. of Math. Statistics, Virginia Polytechnic Inst. and State U; Prof. of Math. AUC, Egypt; Prof. of Math, Dean of Student, Dean of Research, Dean of the Faculty of Science at U. of Jordan, Amman. He also served as Sec. Gen, Higher Council for Science and Technology, Jordan; he was keynote speaker in numerous international conferences in the areas of Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, Education and Higher Education.
