Biodata
Etinosa Igbinosa earned his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Microbiology at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Nigeria, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria and the University of Fort Hare, Alice, South Africa respectively. His expertise is pathogen biology and disease transmission, water/wastewater quality, applied and environmental microbiology. His research focuses on the microbial ecology, evolution and epidemiology of antibiotic resistance, resistance and virulence genes in food, clinical and environment. He has also made critical contributions to the understanding structure and diversity in antibiotic resistant, and virulence genes in foodborne pathogens. His work finds applications nationally and internationally in the tackling antimicrobial resistant strains of leading food safety problems and in the environment. He has received wide recognition for his research nationally and internationally. He is a recipient of several outstanding awards and fellowships and has won several research grants from various funding organizations. He is a fellow of the Africa Science Leadership Programme (ASLP) at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
