Biodata: 
Ip is well known for her seminal discoveries in the biology of neurotrophic factors. She has made important contributions to understanding molecular mechanisms underlying brain development and synaptic plasticity, and their dysregulation in neurological disorders. She has published over 260 scientific papers with more than 18,500 SCI citations and holds 41 patents. She was elected to the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the US National Academy of Sciences, the World Academy of Sciences, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences; and has received numerous awards and honors including the L’OREAL-UNESCO for Women in Science Award (making her the first honoree in the life sciences from China) and the National Natural Science Awards (China’s highest honor in the natural sciences). Furthermore, she is a member of the Global Agenda Council on Brain Research of the World Economic Forum.
