Jagadish (PhD, 1986, Delhi U.) is a Distinguished Prof. and Head, Semicond. Optoelectronics and Nanotechnol. Group, Res. School of Physics, Australian Natl. Univ. (ANU). He was Vice-President and Secretary Physical Science, Australian Acad. of Science (2012-16). He is editor/assoc. editor of 6 journals, 3 book series, and serves on edit. boards of 17 other journals. He published more than 650 journal papers, holds 5 US patents, co-authored 1 and co-edited 15 books. He is Fellow, Australian Acad. of Science, Australian Acad. of Technol. Sciences and Engg.,INSA, INAE, IEEE, APS, MRS. His honours include: IEEE Nanotechnology Pioneer Award, IEEE Photonics Society Engineering Achievement Award, Walter Boas Medal, IEEE Third Millennium Medal; Dist. Lecturer awards from 3 IEEE societies; Peter Baume Award (ANU); Quantum Device Award (ISCS); IEEE Photonics Soc. Dist. Service Award; IEEE Nanotechnology Council Dist.
