Nguyen Thao Thi Phuong

Thao Thi Phuong Nguyen is a distinguished young researcher specializing in mental health, psychology, the application of artificial intelligence in medicine, and stem cell research. She serves as a senior researcher at the Vinmec Research Institute of Stem Cell and Gene Technology, and is the director of the Academy of Medical Sciences in Vietnam. Nguyen earned her Medical Doctor's degree in preventive medicine from Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Viet Nam, in 2014. She subsequently obtained a master’s degree in medicine and a doctorate in public health from Hanoi Medical University. She is the first Vietnamese female PhD to be elected to the Global Young Academy (2024–2029), reflecting her leadership and commitment to advancing science and health equity. She is also a member of the InterAcademy Partnership's Young Physician Leaders programme. Her groundbreaking work bridges public health and technology, advancing knowledge in mental health while fostering global collaboration and innovation.
