Biodata
Marian A. Nkansah had her secondary education at the St. Roses’ Girls’ Secondary School (now St. Roses’ Girls’ Senior High School, at Akwatia in the Eastern Region of Ghana from 1993-1995. From 1998 to 2002, she studied and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry at KNUST. She undertook a course of study in Environmental Chemistry from 2003-2005 in the same University and was awarded a Master of Science Degree upon completion. She was awarded a PhD in Environmental Chemistry by the University of Bergen (Norway), where she studied from 2009-2012. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department Chemistry (KNUST). She has a considerable number of publications to her credit and has rendered services to her community in various ways. She teaches Practical Chemistry, Nuclear/Radiochemistry, Chemistry and Society, and Petroleum Chemistry. Marian has been a faculty member since January 2007. Her research interests span a wide range of fields including finding solutions to environmental problems associated with levels and fate of toxic substances like heavy/trace metals, persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in matrices
