Ooi Keng Boon

Ooi is the Distinguished Chair Professor of Industrial Management and Information Systems and Director of the Centre for Business Informatics and Industrial Management at UCSI University. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Korea University Business School and an Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Before academia, he spent seven years as a senior IT engineer in the semiconductor industry. He is a Fellow of the International Science Council and the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, and a Non-European Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences. Ooi was named a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher in 2023 and has consistently ranked among the world’s top 2% of most-cited scientists (2020–2026). Research.com ranked him 84th worldwide in Business and Management in 2026. His research has appeared in reputable journals including Harvard Data Science Review, Information & Management, Decision Support Systems and Journal of Business Research. SAGE Policy Profiles records citations of his work in policy documents from the OECD, UNESCO, World Bank, WHO, European Commission and European Parliament. He serves as an Associate Editor for several international journals.
