Biodata
Trindade is a full professor at the University of São Paulo, where he served as vice-director and director of the Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences. He coordinates the USP-China Center, fostering institutional collaboration with Chinese partners. He holds a BSc in geology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (1995) and a PhD in geophysics from the University of São Paulo (1999). His research focuses on rock magnetism, paleomagnetism, and archeomagnetism, with emphasis on paleoenvironmental changes throughout Earth’s history, including the Neoproterozoic-Cambrian transition, Phanerozoic biotic crises, and recent geomagnetic field behaviour across the South Atlantic Magnetic Anomaly. He authored more than 200 peer-reviewed articles, and is among Brazil’s most cited geophysicists (h-index 50 on Google Scholar). He leads major national and international projects and has supervised more than 40 graduate and postdoctoral researchers. He is a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Secretary of the International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy, and a voting member of the International Commission on Stratigraphy.
