The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), the TWAS Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Partner (TWAS-LACREP) hosted at the Brazilian Academy of Sciences (BAS) in collaboration with the São Paulo Innovation and Science Diplomacy School (InnSciD SP) have joined forces and are organizing a full-fledged Innovation and Science Diplomacy School from 4 until 13 August 2021.

InnSciD SP is the world’s first school devoted to both Innovation and Science Diplomacy. Since 2019, InnSciD SP has been providing training to scientists, diplomats and representatives of the private sector from all over the world on the rich and multidisciplinary intersection between science, technology, innovation and foreign policy.

InnSciD SP + TWAS 2021 will present a comprehensive program divided into two parts:

a) Science Diplomacy Concept and Introduction (4-6 August)

b) In-depth Innovation and Science Diplomacy (9-13 August)

The first part is primarily aimed at capacity building and networking for young scientists who have never been in contact with the topic of Science Diplomacy.

The second part is devoted to all academic and professional backgrounds. It was conceived to deepen the conceptual and practical understanding by diving into special themes and use cases related to Innovation and Science Diplomacy.

Depending on the specific background and experience, some applicants will be selected to undergo the full course, while others will be entitled to participate in the second part.

Women candidates and candidates from Science and Technology-Lagging Countries (STLC) are especially encouraged to apply. For a list of STLC countries please see HERE.
