Biodata
Gabriel Mindlin was born in Quilmes, Argentina, and graduated from the National University of La Plata with a degree in physics. Then, he earned his PhD in physics at Drexel University in Philadelphia, USA (1988–1992). He served as a professor at the University of Navarra, Spain, from 1992 to 1994, and as an associate researcher at the University of California, San Diego, from 2002 to 2004. He is currently a full professor at the University of Buenos Aires, in the Department of Physics, Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, and a researcher at CONICET. He has received several national and international awards and honors, including the Stimulus Award from the Bunge and Born Foundation, the Arthur Winfree Award from the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste (Italy), and is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is also a member of the Latin American Academy of Sciences. He has authored approximately 150 publications in scientific journals, and four books. His work has appeared in leading journals, including Nature, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and Physical Review Letters. He has supervised 20 doctoral theses.
