G8: Joint Statement By Science Academies

On 10 June, Ichiro Kanazawa, President of the Science Council of Japan (member of IAP) presented Japan's Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda joint statements prepared by science academies for the G8 Summit urging governments to take actions such as supporting research on greenhouse gas reduction technologies and climate change impacts. The statements were formally presented to the heads of states/government at the G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit between 7 and 9 July.
