Ramy K. Aziz is currently professor and chair of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Pharmacy-Cairo University. He earned his PhD in microbiology and immunology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, USA in 2005, and, since then performed postdoctoral research at leading institutions including the University of Chicago, San Diego State University, and the University of California San Diego. His research interests span molecular epidemiology, systems biology of microbial pathogens, evolution and emergence microbial pathogenesis and resistance, microbial and bacteriophage genomics and metagenomics, the human microbiome and pharmacomicrobiomics. His scientific publications include a book, 7 book sections, 65 articles in peer-reviewed journals, in addition to blogs and web pages oriented to transformative education and science communication.

Mohamed-Elamir F. Hegazy, Professor of natural products chemistry, phytochemistry Department, National Research Centre. He obtained his PhDs in 2005 and 2007 from Minia University (Egypt) and Hiroshima University (Japan), respectively. Prof. Hegazy is working in the field natural products chemistry and biotransformation of natural compounds with cultured plant cells from fifteen years ago and he has a strong experience in the isolation, purification and identification of natural compounds form medicinal plants and marine organisms using high technique for identification (1D and 2D NMR analyses). During the fifteen years that Prof. Hegazy has been publishing in the area of natural product chemistry, and his program has come to focus on the challenging as well as medically important area of biologically-active marine metabolites. His current H-index value of 15 is based on over 80 peer-reviewed articles. Regerding to his pionner in the filed of natural products chemistry, he was invited as a guiest editor for special issue in Marine Drugs journal. He got a powerful fellowship and awards from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), Alexander von Humboldt (AVH), The World Ac
