Ahmed Al-Tabbakh is a professor of applied physics at the Department of Physics, Al-Nahrain University, Baghdad, Iraq. He earned his MSc in physics at Al Nahrain University, Baghdad (in 2001), and his PhD degree in applied physics from Pune University, India (in 2009). Then he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Nanomaterials Research, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia (2011-2013). He authored more than 30 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Ahmed is interested in developing nanomaterials and nanostructures for energy storage applications and for cold cathodes. He is also interested in understanding the field emission phenomenon in metals and semiconductors, and more recently in cold cathodes arrays. His skills include synthesis, characterization and test of nanomaterials for Li ion batteries, working with X-ray diffraction measuremnts and XRD qlitative and quantitative analysis software, Operating SIMION7-3D Design Package for Electron Optics and FORTRAN Language programming. Dr. Al-Tabbakh is an active reviewer of a number of international scientific journals.
