Life sciences: the next decade

"BioVisionAlexandria 2014", co-sponsored by TWAS, has been scheduled for 7-9 April 2014 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center in Egypt.

An international conference exploring new frontiers in life sciences and exciting new technologies needed to face global challenges will be held next month at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Egypt.

"BioVisionAlexandria 2014", the Bibliotheca's seventh conference, held every even calendar year, has been scheduled for 7-9 April 2014 at its conference center. During BioVision, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina organizes a major exhibition called BioFair@BioVisionAlexandria 2014, for which TWAS is a sponsor. Organizers anticipate at least 1,500 attendees from many countries.

BioVisionAlexandria will also hold a two-day event for young researchers from developing countries on research ethics and social responsibilities in the developing world. The event, called TWAS/BioVisionAlexandria.NXT 2014, will be held 5-6 April 2014. This is the fourth such event for which TWAS is supporting the attendance of total of 50 young scientists through its regional offices. Those selected receive the chance to meet Nobel laureates and other eminent scientists and to network with other young scientists from all over the world.
