TWAS and the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) have signed an agreement that will allow postgraduate students, postdocs and visiting scholars to study at CIIT in Pakistan.
The deadline for nominations for the TWAS 2014 Prizes and the TWAS-Celso Furtado 2013 Prize in Social Sciences is 28 February 2014.
Postgraduate, postdoctoral, visiting scholar and advanced research fellowships are available to scientists from developing countries. Deadlines for applications vary; for Iran, Kenya, Malaysia, Pakistan and Thailand the deadline is 15 September; for Mexico it is 30 September.
TWAS is now accepting applications for projects in the basic sciences from individual young scientists and leaders of research units based in scientifically lagging countries. Deadline for receipt of applications: 31 August.
TWAS is inviting innovative young scientists, policymakers and diplomats from the developing world to apply to attend a science diplomacy workshop in December on the challenges of sustainable energy policies. The application deadline is 15 September.
The programme supports visits of internationally renowned scientists to institutions located in developing countries, especially those located in the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
TWAS offers fellowships to young scientists in developing countries to enable them to spend between three and 12 months at a research institution in a developing country other than their own. Deadline for applications: 1 October.
Organizers of scientific activities that will be held in developing countries between July and December 2014 can apply for small grants. Deadline for applications: 1 December 2013.
Requests by research groups and/or scientific institutions in least developed countries are due by 31 October.
