Daar is Prof. of clinical pub. health/global health/surgery at the Univ. of Toronto (UofT). He is member of UN Sec General's Sci Adv Brd. Went to med such in Uganda and London and obtained his PHD (DPhil) in transplant immunology/immunogenetics at Oxford U. In the Middle East, he helped start two med. schools. He has recently been found. chair, Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (2009-11) and was chair, Adv. Board, UN Univ. Intl. Inst. for Global Health. He was member, UNESCO Intl. Bioethics Comm. He holds the world record for performing the youngest cadaveric donor kidney transplant. His awards include UNESCO Avicenna Prize for Ethics in Science, Hunterian Prof., Roy Col. Surgeons and Anthony Miller Prize for Research Excellence at UofT. He chairs the Sci and Strategic Adv Brd of AESA. His current research studies how to avoid knowledge divides and the exploration of how genomics and other biotechnologies can be used effectively to ameliorate global health inequities.

Dr. Muhammad Farooq is Professor of Plant Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman. He also holds the positions of Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Australia and Dankook University, South Korea. Dr. Farooq is the recipient of several fellowships and awards from Australia, Germany, Japan, Oman and Pakistan, and. He was named the ‘Highly Cited Researcher’ by the Clarivate/Web of Sciences for the years 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. His research has encompassed providing an understanding of the response of crops to abiotic stresses. He has developed seed enhancements for improving crop performance under less than optimum conditions and for the delivery of micronutrients. He devised technologies for the cost-effective biofortification of grain crops with zinc and iron. He is among the pioneers to develop non-chemical weed control, through allelopathy, in field crops. He optimized, developed and popularized conservation agricultural systems In Pakistan and Oman. Dr. Farooq has edited thirty-five books and authored and co-authored more than 400 research articles. His citations, on google scholar, exceed 41,000 with an H-index of 95.

Al-Sulaiman (PhD, 1999, UK) is professor, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), College of Engineering, Oman. She is a chemical Engineer experienced in environmental engineering, with an emphasis on environmental protection. She has received several awards and recognitions, the latest of which were Khalifa Award for Higher Education (2013), the WSO Education Award (2011), First Prize of the Saudi Arabia Environmental Management Award (2008), Distinguished Teaching Excellence Award from SQU (2007), Environmental Advocacy Award from the Arab Towns Organization (2007), Distinguished Researcher Award from SQU (2005). She has published many books/chapters in books, and more than 120 referred international journal articles. She has served as the Editor of many Special Issues. Also, she has been invited to be a member of editorial boards of many international environmental and engineering journals.

Al-Kindy is a Professor at the Department of Chemistry of the Sultan Qaboos University, in Al Seeb, Oman. Her research focuses on the development of robust and simple sequential injection analysis methods for the assay of pharmaceutical, biomedical and environmental samples, and on the investigation of various luminescence detection modes such as spectrophotometry, micellar enhanced fluorescence, lanthanide enhanced luminescence and chemiluminescence. She developed methods for the analysis of enantiomeric drugs; analysed essential oil from endemic plants; and developed novel ultra-sensitive detection methods for the monitoring of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as piroxicam, ibuprofen and ketoprofen through urine and plasma samples, and in pharmaceutical formulations.

Hassan has focused his attention on the genotypic and phenotypic variables concerning hypertension in the Middle East, and a study of the personal and environmental influences on the physical fitness in urban and rural youth of the region. He is professor and chair of physiology, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman. He was previously chairman of the department of physiology, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He has received the Pan Arab Hypertension Society Award in 1999 and the Asian Federation Olympic Committee Award in 2000. He is an elected member of the Hypertension Society and fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, Glasgow.
