The International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe) is a research institute focused on integrated control methodologies for crop and livestock insect pests and other related arthropods, and insect vectors of tropical diseases. Based in Kenya, icipe partners with TWAS in the TWAS-icipe Postgraduate Fellowship Programme, the TWAS-icipe Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme, and the TWAS-icipe Fellowships for Visiting Scholars in Kenya.

The Iranian Research Organization for Science and Technology (IROST) is a comprehensive science policy research centre directly attached to the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. It is the biggest research centre in Iran, and chiefly engaged in developing science and technology for economic progress. TWAS and IROST partner in the framework of the TWAS-IROST Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.

The German Research Foundation (DFG) is the self-governing research funding organization in Germany. It focuses on funding and supporting excellent research. Together with TWAS, the DFG offers researchers from developing countries short-term TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits in Germany.

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is the highest academic institution and R&D centre in China. It has 100 branch institutes and two universities, and has created numerous commercial enterprises, including computer company Lenovo. CAS and TWAS collaborate in the CAS-TWAS President’s Postgraduate Fellowship Programme and the CAS-TWAS Centres of Excellence. In addition, CAS hosts the TWAS Regional Office for East and South-East Asia and the Pacific (ROESEAP).

The National Centre for Physics (NCP) in Islamabad was established in 1999 to promote research in physics and allied disciplines in Pakistan and the region. Its main objective is to raise the standard of physics at par with international norms of productivity and originality, and to generate and disseminate knowledge in the major areas of physics. Together with TWAS, NCP offers postdoctoral fellowships and fellowships for visiting scholars in Pakistan.

The National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), founded in 1983, is a premier research institute with over 30 laboratories and 150 principle scientists conducting basic and applied research covering a wide spectrum from agricultural science to biomedical science and environmental science. TWAS and BIOTEC collaborate within the TWAS-BIOTEC Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.

The National Council on Science and Technology (CONACYT) aims to promote the scientific development and technological modernization of Mexico through developing high level human resources, promoting and maintaining specific research projects, and disseminating scientific and technological information. CONACYT and TWAS are about to set up postgraduate and postdoctoral fellowships tenable in Mexico by young researchers from the developing world.

The National Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB) – based in Lahore, Pakistan – has expertise in plant and medical molecular biology and molecular genetics. Together with TWAS, CEMB operates the a postgraduate and a postdoctoral fellowship programme.

The Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) is a leading research university in Malaysia. It is located in Serdang, next to Malaysia’s administrative capital city Putrajaya. As a world-renowned centre of learning and research, UPM has attracted students and staff from all around the world making it a well-respected global entity. UPM and TWAS jointly offer TWAS-UPM Fellowships for Visiting Scholars in Malaysia and the TWAS-UPM Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.

USM is a world-class institution of higher education that offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels to approximately 20,000 students at 24 schools and 33 centres located in three university campuses in Malaysia. USM and TWAS collaborate in the organization of three fellowship programmes: postgraduate and postdoctoral fellowships, plus one for visiting researchers in Malaysia.

CNPq (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico) is an organization of the Brazilian federal government under the Ministry of Science and Technology, dedicated to the promotion of scientific and technological research. TWAS and CNPq are partnering in offering researchers in developing countries the opportunity of travelling to Brazil under the TWAS-CNPq Postgraduate Fellowship Programme or the TWAS-CNPq Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.

The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) – established in 1876 in Kolkata – is the oldest institute in India devoted to the pursuit of fundamental research in the frontier areas of basic sciences (chemistry and physics). Together with TWAS, the Association offers postgraduate and postdoctoral fellowships tenable in India.

COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Pakistan ranks among the top five Higher Education Institutions of Pakistan. It has 18 departments in 6 faculties offering 98 academic programmes at the undergraduate, master and doctoral level. It currently has over 37,000 students and over 3,000 faculty members on its 7 campuses in different cities of the country.   On the basis of its research output in ISI indexed journals it was ranked at the 2nd position in 2014 by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Besides well-equipped research laboratories for biosciences, chemistry, pharmacy, physics, environment sciences and earth sciences it has research centres for biomedical materials, micro & nano devices, telecommunications and climate research.

TWAS collaborates with CUI in the TWAS-CUI Postgraduate Fellowship Programme and the TWAS-CUI Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.

The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), based in Karachi, Pakistan, comprises the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry and the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular and Drug Research. TWAS and ICCBS jointly offer the TWAS-ICCBS Postgraduate Fellowship Programme and the TWAS-ICCBS Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme. In 2011, TWAS produced a volume profiling ICCBS.

The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) is an Indian government department, under the Ministry of Science and Technology, responsible for administering development and commercialization in the field of modern biology and biotechnology at a number of centres of excellence in India, including university departments and CSIR institutes and laboratories. TWAS and DBT collaborate in the framework of the TWAS-DBT Postgraduate Fellowship Programme and the TWAS-DBT Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is the Indian government's main R&D organization. It consists of a network of 38 institutes and laboratories and 39 outreach centres covering most areas of science and technology. TWAS and CSIR partner in offering the TWAS-CSIR Postgraduate Fellowship Programme and the TWAS-CSIR Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.

The S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences is an autonomous research institute under the Department of Science and Technology, India. It was established in 1986 in Salt Lake, Kolkata, and now has some 36 faculty and scientists active in physical sciences and related disciplines. The Centre and TWAS jointly offer the TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship Programme and the TWAS-SN Bose Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.

The Royal Society is a fellowship of the world's most eminent scientists and is the oldest scientific academy in continuous existence. TWAS and the Royal Society collaborate in the framework of the Solar Radiation Management Governance Initiative (SRMGI) and are active members of IAP, the global network of science academies.

The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) provides essential support to TWAS, OWSD and GenderInSITE. Sida-supported programmes focus on research grants and PhD fellowships in 66 S&T-lagging countries, and support the TWAS Regional Offices and its science diplomacy programme. Sida is a government agency working under the Swedish Foreign Ministry. It administers approximately half of Sweden's budget for development assistance to developing countries.
