Yu is prof. at the Inst. of Molecular Bio., Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan. She attained outstanding accomplishments in frontier research. She has unraveled sugar and oxygen deficiency signaling and gene regulation pathways, and discovered mechanisms underlying rice flooding tolerance. Yu was the first to succeed in Agrobacterium-mediated rice transformation. Based on this admirable development, she generated a large T-DNA inserted rice mutant population and established a database of flanking sequence tags. These resources offer great value in the functional genomics research of novel genes applicable for cereal crop improvement. Yu is a Fellow of the American Assoc. for the Advancement of Sci. (AAAS), won a Corresponding Member Award of the American Soc. of Plant Biologists (ASPB) and many major foreign and domestic awards, and has been elected as an Academician of Academia Sinica.

Wong obtained his BSc (1973) from the Chinese U. of Hong Kong and PhD (1976) from U. College London. After 2 years as a postdoc at Harvard, he returned to U. College London. From 1980 to 1982, he did research at the Shanghai Inst. of Organic Chemistry (SIOC), The Chinese Acad. of Sciences (CAS). In 1983, he joined the Chinese U. of Hong Kong and is now Emeritus Prof. of Chemistry and Research Professor. He also chairs the Management Committee, Shanghai-Hong Kong Joint Laboratory in Chemical Synthesis, SIOC, CAS. His research interests are concerned with syntheses and studies of natural and non-natural molecules, as well as synthetic methodologies. He has published more than 275 research papers, invited reviews and book chapters. He is member of CAS and the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences, and the winner of Humboldt, Croucher and Ramsay fellowships and the National Natural Sciences Prize of China.

Liu has been a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Research Center for Environmental Changes, Academia Sinica, Taipei, China since 1999. He is the founding Director of the Center. Liu has made fundamental contributions in atmospheric chemistry, air pollution and climate change. He has published more than 160 papers which have received more than 6500 citations. He is one of the first few Chinese geoscientists in the prestigious ISI Highly Cited Researchers list. He was elected as an Academician of Academia Sinica in 2012. He was elected a Fellow of the American Geophysical Union in 1994. He is also a Fellow of the Chinese Meteorological Society. In addition, Liu served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Geophysical Research-Atmospheres (JGR) from 1988 to 1991.

Jisnuson Svasti (PhD 1972, U. of Cambridge) is Emeritus Professor of Biochemistry, Mahidol U., and Director, Lab. of Biochemistry, Chulabhorn Research Inst., Bangkok. He is former President of: Federation of Asian and Oceanian Biochemists (1990-1992), Science Soc. of Thailand (2008-2011), Protein Soc. of Thailand (2006-2020), Asian-Pacific Protein Assoc. (2017-2018). He received the Outstanding Scientist of Thailand Award (2002), Natl. Res. Council of Thailand Outstanding Researcher Award (2003), and A-IMBN Distinguished Lecture Award (2012). He is Chairman, Marsi Foundation and Prajadhipok-Rambhai Barni Foundation, and was Senior Research Scholar of the Thailand Research Fund (2001-2007), Council Member, Asian-Oceanian Human Proteome Organization (2004-2016). He was awarded Knight Grand Cordon of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand; Knight Grand Cordon of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant; Dushdi Mala Medal, as well as Honorary D.Sc. degrees from Mahidol U. and Suranaree U. Technology.

Liu is prof. and head of the Cancer Therapy Lab. at the Shanghai Inst. of Bioch. and Cell Biology (SIBCB), Chinese Acad. of Sciences (CAS). He graduated from Nankai University, China, 1952 and work in USA 1983-4. He has worked in many fields of mol. biol., incl. interferon, total synthesis of yeast Ala-tRNA, genetic engineering and is now focused on cancer biotherapy and innovated the “Cancer Targeting Gene-Viro-Therapy (CTGVT)”. By the use of two genes, the CTGVT-DG, all the Xenograft tumors in nude mice can be completely eliminated; He co-discovered a “Super Interferon-I (sIFN-I)”, with excellent cancer therapeutic effects. He has published over 400 papers, compiled 15 volume collected papers of Xin-Yuan Liu and received over 40 awards. He is an academician of CAS and foreign academician of the Natl. Acad. of Sciences of Ukraine.

Liu is a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan. His work in reaction dynamics has led to new fundamental insights into the intricate details of elementary chemical reactions under crossed molecular beam conditions, including the first unambiguous observation of reactive or Feshbach resonances, the quantum state correlation of product pairs in a reactive event, the mode- and bond-selected reactivity of polyatomic reactants, and the stereo-control of bimolecular reactions. He is a member of Academia Sinica, a fellow of American Physical Society and Royal Society of Chemistry, the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award of the National Tsing Hua University, the First Presidential Science Prize of Taiwan, the Alexander von Humboldt Research Award, and the R. B. Bernstein Award.

Chen is professor at Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU). He obtained his BSc and MSc degrees from SYSU in 1983 and 1986, respectively, and PhD from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, in 1989. He was elected to Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009. He served as dean of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at SYSU and vice-president of the Chinese Crystallographic Society. His prizes include Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Research (2014), TWAS Prize in Chemistry (2012), Thomson Reuters Research Fronts Award (2008), National Natural Science Prize of China (2007), and Distinguished Young Scientist Award by Qiu Shi Science and Technologies Foundation (1999).

Lee is Dist. Res. Fellow, Inst. of Information Sci., Academia Sinica, Taiwan, (1998- ), and was Dir. of IIS (1998-08), and Pres. of Natl. Chung-Hsing U. (2011/8-2015/7). He is also Dist. Res. Chair Prof. of computer science, Natl. Taiwan U., and Chair Prof., Natl. Taiwan Tech and Natl. Chung-Hsing U.. He was Professor of computer science, Northwestern U. (1978-98) and was Program Dir., CISE, Natl. Science Foundation (1989-90). He is editor of Algorithmica, Intl. J. Information and Computer Security; Co-Editor-in-Chief, Intl. J. Computational Geometry and Applications; and editor, Lecture Notes Series on Computing, World Scientific Publishing Co., Singapore.
