Gonzales has been professor for 42 years of the Faculty of Sciences and Philosophy of the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia (1979-2021) with a wide and recognized scientific career at national and international level from 1977 to the present day. Physician and biologist by profession, he is the first Doctor of Science at the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia (1985) and also holds a PhD in Medicine (1999) with a post-doctorate at Monash University, in Melbourne, Australia (1987-1988). He is an Academic of Number at both the National Academy of Medicine and the National Academy of Sciences. During his 44 years of scientific life, he has devoted himself to research on the endocrine aspects of adaptation to high altitude, in particular to the hormonal mechanisms that regulate erythropoiesis. In Peru, residents above 2000m account for 30% of the Peruvian population. Gonzales is the author of 355 scientific publications, including 12 books and 14 book chapters. He has received 72 national and international awards during his scientific career. He is a referee of more than 60 international journals. He has advised 30 Bachelor's, 19 Master's and 8 Doctor´s thesis.

Gledhill is an honorary adjunct professor of flow physics at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, and an applied computational physicist with 30 years expertise in aerodynamics. She worked on magnetic plasma confinement at the University of California, Los Angeles, and at Stanford University (USA), where she developed a massively parallel plasma simulation for space shuttle physics. Back to South Africa, she moved into the field of computational fluid dynamics at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). She actively sought collaborations, providing physical insight across a wide range of scientific and engineering disciplines. Her work has included methane explosions in coal mines, molecular modelling for the treatment of HIV and tuberculosis, and the quantification of storm damage to ocean breakwaters. She has a strong commitment to gender equity in science and to improving the work environment for both women and men. She is vice-president of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics, serves on the Council of the Academy of Science of South Africa, and recently served as vice-president of the Network of African Science Academies.

Gingrich is a full professor emeritus at the Department for Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna. Real member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) and Director emeritus of the Institute for Social Anthropology of the ÖAW. Foreign Member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. A natural product pharmacologist, Gilani has discovered himbacine as a prototype of cardio-selective antimuscarinic drug and showed presence of synergistic and side-effects neutralizing combinations in natural products. Ghosh is currently Distinguished Professor and Dean, Academic Affairs at the UM-DAE-Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, University of Mumbai, Kalina Campus, Santacruz (East), Mumbai 400098, India. Earlier he served as Head of the Theoretical Chemistry Section, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, India, and senior professor and dean-academic (chemical sciences) at Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai, India. He was educated at the University of Burdwan, India (MSc), and Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (PhD, 1982). He has worked in different areas of theoretical chemistry, dealing with density functional theory at different length scales and time-dependent systems, theory of chemical binding, structure of soft matter at interfaces, dynamics in condensed phase and modeling materials for energy applications. He is a fellow of all three national science academies of India and is recipient of the TWAS Prize in Chemistry, silver medal of the Chemical Research Society of India, JC Bose National Fellowship of DST, India, Jagdish Shankar Memorial Lecture Award of INSA and D.Sc. (honoris causa) from Kalyani University, India.

Ghosh is Distinguished James McGill Prof. and Macdonald Prof. of Education, McGill University, Montréal, Canada. Dean of Education (1998-­‐2003), she is Fellow, Royal Society of Canada (chaired the Standing Committee: Advancement for Women in Scholarship for two terms); Member, Order of Canada (2000); Officer, Order of Quebec (2005); and Full Member, European Acad. of Sciences, Arts and Letters, Paris (1999). Her research spans Asia, Africa, Latin America and Canada. Ghogho received his PhD in signal processing from the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (1997). He was a research fellow at the University of Strathclyde (1997–2001) before joining the University of Leeds where he was promoted to full professor and head of the Signal Processing and Communications Group, in 2008. In 2010, still affiliated with the University of Leeds, he joined the International University of Rabat where he served as ICT research drector and dean of the College of Doctoral Studies. In March 2025, he joined the College of Computing at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. He is a recipient of prestigious awards, including the Royal Academy of Engineering Fellowship (2000), IBM Faculty Award (2013), and was elected a Fellow of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) (2018), and International Academy of Artificial Intelligence Sciences (AAIS) (2021). His work focuses on machine learning and statistical signal processing, with applications in wireless communications, robotics, cybersecurity, and healthcare. He has published over 450 papers, supervised over 50 PhD students, and led over 20 research projects, serving as editor for many journals.

Ghassib is professor of theoretical physics at the University of Jordan. After obtaining a PhD in physics and completing postdoctoral work at Manchester University, he returned to Jordan in late 1975. Since then he has worked in various capacities at the University of Jordan and other institutions, including the Arab Thought Forum, Majlis El Hassan and the newspaper AL ARAB AL YAWM. His honors and awards include: Abdul Hameed Shoman Prize for Young Arab Scientists in Fundamental Sciences, Amman, 1986; Al-Hussein Order of Merit for Distinguished Contribution, 2nd order, 1998; and 1st order, 2000; Distinguished Researcher Prize, The University of Jordan, 2011. He is a member of the Jordan Academy of Arabic (1984-) and the New York Academy of Sciences (1981).

Aster Gebrekirstos (PhD, Gottingen University, Germany, 2005) is senior scientist and head of the dendrochronology lab, World Agroforestry (ICRAF), Nairobi, Kenya, and affiliated with Erlangen University, Germany. Her research is in the area of forest ecology, dendroclimatology, climate change, applications of stable isotopes, land restoration. She led and participated in research projects across Africa and Asia. She set up dendrochronology labs in Ethiopia (2009) and in Nairobi (2013). She taught at Alemaya and Wondo Genet University, Ethiopia; as visiting professor at WASCAL, and Dresden University in Germany. She trained 20+ PhD students, published 80+ journal articles and book chapters. Her awards include: African Climate Award for excellence in climate change research (2014), Special Award for Groundbreaking Science (2009). Fellow of African Academy of Science (AAS), International Academy of Wood Science, conferred Eleonore Trefftz Visiting Professorship Dresden University. She is a vice-president of International Union of Agroforestry, chair of Environment Committee at AAS, member of science leadership at Past Global Changes (PAGES) and Mountain Research Institute (MRI).

Gaye is Professor of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine of Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar; Director of the Malaria Research and Capacity Development Programme in West and Central Africa; Coordinator of the Network for Malaria Surveillance in West and Central Africa; a member of the Senegalese Academy of Sciences and Techniques, and a member of Malaria Consortium's Board of Trustees. He was: Head of the Department of Parasitology; Coordinator of the PhD training in human biology and pathology; Scientific Adviser on Malaria in WHO Regional Office for Africa, and a member of WHO headquaters' Expert Panel on Malaria Management; Malaria Technical Advisor at the Gates Foundation; and Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Health, Senegal, for many years. Gaye has coordinated research on malaria and several parasitic diseases in Africa, as the seasonal malaria chemoprevention, and the use of antimalarial and diagnostics tests at community level. He is a founding member of the West Africa Roll Back Malaria Network. He received the Senegal Presidential Award for Science in 2012, and International Distinguished Fellow by American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in 2021.

Garruto is prof. of biomedical anthropology and neurosciences and Dir. of the Biospecimen Archive Facility, State Univ. of New York, Binghamton. He received his PhD from Penn State Univ. and joined the Natl. Institutes of Health (NIH) in 1973 as a research scientist. Since 2008, she has been working on the development of preventive vaccines. Since 2022, she has served as vice-director for research and development at the Finlay Vaccine Institute, Cuba. She is the author or co-author of more than 50 scientific papers published in high-impact journals, including The Lancet Regional Health-Americas, Med, Vaccine, and ACS Central Science. In 2020, she accelerated the development of the SOBERANA® COVID-19 vaccines, whose phase I, II, and III clinical trials proved their safety, immunogenicity, and effectiveness in both children and adults. Her expertise encompasses conjugate vaccines, immunology, preclinical models, clinical trials, and technology transfer. She holds two patents and has received several annual awards from the Cuban Academy of Sciences, two WIPO Gold Medals (2022), the Carlos J. Finlay Order (2019), and the title of Hero of Labour of the Republic of Cuba (2021). She is a full member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences, and of the Innovation Committee of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health.

Garcia Rivera is an experienced researcher in synthetic organic chemistry, drug discovery, peptide pharmaceuticals, protein conjugation and vaccine development, with a solid career built in both the academy and the biotech industry in Cuba and Germany. He is the regional director of a global health and pandemic prevention centre operating between Germany and Latin America, devised to develop vaccine technologies, immunological tools, gene delivery systems, adjuvants, and antimicrobial drugs. He is the past-president of the Cuban Society of Chemistry and the Latin American Federation of Chemical Associations, and a co-developer of the Cuban COVID-19 vaccine Soberana. He earned a BSc (2002), and an MSc both in chemistry at the University of Havana, graduating with the highest academic honours in 2003. In 2007, he earned a PhD summa cum laude in synthetic chemistry at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg. Between 2016–2018, he worked as an experienced researcher fellow with the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Germany. Since 2018 he has been a full research professor at the University of Havana and, since 2026, at National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Dionicia Gamboa Vilela (PhD, 2008, Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium, and University of Maastricht, The Netherlands) is professor at Faculty of Science and Engineering, Director of the Centro de Entrenamiento e Investigación Biomédica de la Amazonia (CEIBA) and member of the Institute of Tropical Medicine AvH from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. Her group carries out multidisciplinary studies about malaria transmission dynamics in the Peruvian Amazon region. She has published more than 100 original articles, and has supervised more than 40 under and postgraduate students who have graduated with a thesis in her lab. She has been a member of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) since 1996. She received the L’Oréal-UNESCO Fellowship in 2003, the OWSD - Elsevier Foundation Award for Latin America & Caribbean (2013), and the L'Oréal - UNESCO - CONCYTEC - ANC National Award For Women in Science - Peru in 2015. She is a member of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and since 2013 and she is currently part of thePeruvian National Academy of Science board directory (2023 - 2027).

Gambini is professor at the Instituto de Fisica, Facultad de Ciencias, in Montevideo, Uruguay. He is known for his development of non-perturbative techniques for the treatment of gauge theories in terms of Wilson loops, prediction of dispersion effects in the propagation of light due to the quantum structure of space-time, for his consistent discrete quantum gravity approach and for his analisys of the issue of time in quantum gravity. He has recently accomplished the first loop gravity quantization of Black Holes. Fotuhi-Firuzabad obtained his BSc and MSc degrees in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology and Tehran University in 1986 and 1989 respectively, and MSc and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, in 1993 and 1997 respectively. He is a professor of electrical engineering at Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. His research interests include power system reliability, distributed renewable generation, demand response and smart grids. His scientific activities include more than 700 papers, and supervising more than 130 master's and doctoral theses. He is the recipient of several national and international awards including: World Intellectual Property Organization Award for the Outstanding Inventor (2003), and Probabilistic Methods Applied to Power Systems (PMAPS) International Society Merit Award in 2016. Fotuhi-Firuzabad is a visiting professor at Aalto University, Finland. He serves as the Editor-In-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid from Nov. 2024. Fontes is a professor at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), coordinator of the National Institute of Science and Technology in plant-pest interaction, and a member of the Brazilian Academy of Science and the National Order of Scientific Merit by the Brazilian Presidency. She was the coordinator of graduate programmes at UFV, head of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department, scientific director of the Arthur Bernardes Foundation, and member of the CNPq Genetics Advisory Committee and Fapemig Agricultural Advisory Committee. She is a member of the CAPES Evaluation Committee of Graduate Programmes in biotechnology and serves as a monitoring and associate editor for scientific journals.
